OKDems Dispatch – January 2018

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

OKDems Latest News

We had a great turnout this last Saturday at the Community Unity Potluck and OKDems General Meeting, with some new faces in attendance, delicious food and fantastic groups that are doing some awesome work in our county.

Welcome to the newest OKDems members and many thanks to all for what you do to make our county so wonderful.
There’s much to still do and there’s no doubt that, together, we can do it!

Precinct Committee Officers

About a year ago, we started with 3 PCOs. We now have 47. We have a large county with hundreds of precincts in need of a PCO.

If you’re interested in any of the above roles, please let us know! Most of those listed above only require about less than an hour a week for the role and the ability to attend one or two meetings a month.

Special thanks to all our PCOs and members for all they’re doing to build #TheNewBlue to #FlipOkanoganCountyBlue!

This week there are signmaking parties scheduled in Methow, Tonasket and Omak to create the messages for We Will March – Hear Our Voices, hosted by #ResistForGOOD Indivisible. Also please think of what we want to say using our voices 😉

Folks will meet at Omak Civic League Park on Saturday, January 20th at 11:30am and the march up and down Main and Ash Streets (as well as side streets) will start at Noon. PLEASE RESPECT ALL PEDESTRIAN AND TRAFFIC LAWS, stay on sidewalks, in crosswalks, do not block traffic, sidewalks or driveways, and obey signal lights. It’s fine 8f we have to wait for a light to turn green and get a little broken up. A massive single file of marchers throughout all of downtown will be impressive!

We will wrap up the march by around 1:00pm so everyone can head to Breadline Cafe for the Rise & Organize Canvass training and event immediate after the march.

SAVE THE DATE! The next monthly meeting for the OKDems is at 12 Tribes Resort Casino and Spa on Saturday, February 3, 2018, starting at NOON. Further details will be emailed before the meeting.

See you all soon! Keep working to build #TheNewBlue so we can #FlipItBlue in #OkanoganCounty!
